see my response to Dana, posted on April 14th, for the whole story, but the bottom line is I have been prescribed 20+ medications, (including oxygen).
Only one worked for me. Lithium. This is my first bout with Clusters in over 10 years. I made up my mind that I am not going to be a guinea pig for a doctor and his drug-rep salespeople this time around trying every medicine known to man.
Give it a shot. If the doctor won't prescribe it find one who will. (it can have dangerous side effects on your blood chemistry/electrolytes,etc. if not watched closely-but any risk is worth eliminating the pain)
Don't subject yourself to the "give it a chance to work" BS while you suffer for months. I went through 7 years of that, until I finally was prescribed Lithium (which I don't believe is a coincidence that caused the headaches to go away for 10 years).
