Carl,

I find it varies. Generally the affected eye gets
a smaller pupil, but I do remember one attack (the
one that finally got me diagnosed in fact) where the
pupil actually changed shape and became a dumb-bell;
that was the moment when Carol drove me to the surgery
faster than I've seen her move before! Thinking
one is going blind has a very salutory effect.

Also, I had another attack where the redness didn't go,
and it turned out a blood vessel at the back of the
eye had burst. I still have slightly impaired vision
in that eye (the cluster side) (or ipsilateral as drummer
would say!). I've asked a couple of times whether
others have had this, but no one else seems to have.

The eye specialist (and Peter Goadsby) both said that
there was no way they could be related, but I don't
believe in co-incidence to that extent.

ATB

Simon
