It's been the miracle drug for me. I am episodic, usually twice a year at the time changes, cycle lasts about 10 to 12 weeks. When I know the cycle is here, generally 2 confirmed ch's, I go on 1200 mg a day of lithium. A little tough at first because it does slow you down a LOT! But within a week or two they diminish in frequency and intensity. If I avoid all of my triggers, coffee, liquor, screwing up sleep cycles etc, then I can stay almost pain free for the cycle.
