DJ - I haven't tried Kenn's search yet but there are a couple of things here.
Marijuana is something I used to do when I was younger. It is useless against cluster headaches and like smoing it tend to induce them.
LSD is something different. It was first developed as a treatment for vascular headaches. Those of us like Kenn who have used it (and in Kenn's case this was under medical supervision before it was banned) will testify that it is the safest and most effective treatment available.
The fact LSD is illegal is nothing to do with it's effectiveness against CH.
Now I realise some people will claim that it leads to harder stuff blah blah blah... Well it's scientifically prover to be counter addictive. It is also one of the least toxic substances around. Caffiene will kills at a significantly lower dose.
Only 1/4 of hit of LSD will prevent cluster headaches from between 6 months to 1 year, possibly longer. If it wasn't illegal would that make it any more effective?
DJ - I really do appreciate what you have done for the millions of people around the world with CH. Myself very much included. Believe me. I cannot put into words my gratitude for the work you have put into this site over the last 2 years plus. The fact that the only truely effective treatment out there is illegal is something that we need to campaign against, just like those MS people. Please don't overlook the wood for staring at the trees. Yes - we would like a button on LSD and shrroms (which incidentally are legal in some places).
I think Kenn is trying to help those who are seeking to use this currently illegal therapy, in as much as providing them with informative links, to help reduce the danger of delving into a potentially dangerous area.
I do worry about being drug tested. Prior to discovering this treatment I was headed in the direction of the gutter. Now I am a bona fida sucess story. It is an indication of society today that this was down to recreational drug use. Right now, yes there is a danger that I will be tested, but luckily they don't test for shrooms, and LSD is used in such a low dose that they can't really test for it even though they want to.
We are all normal sufferers, and this is our best hope. I don't believe there is going to be two treatments this sucessful. This is the one, and I have 7 years experience on this matter. Please don't stifle it. I know that 'illegal drugs' are two very dirty words, but 'legal drugs' aren't neither is 'legitimate treatment' there is a fine line between the them and we ARE on the right side... the law however isn't.
I don't advocate recreational drug use. Although I did some in my youth, it is not something I would advocate to others, unless they have cluster headaches and the drug in question has an Indole Ring structure.
Please let us all put aside the fact that LSD, Psilocilin and Psilocybin are illegal. Furthermore let's convince the authorities to do the same.
2 times 1/4 treatment anually, no episodes for at least 12 months. I drink red wine every night. I have a list of other that for whom this has proved as sucessful, and not a single person for whom it hasn't. We have the magic bullet here right now, for God's sake lets make the most of it.
Please can we get a button?
