I "discovered" the effects of Amerge when my neuro gave me 2 samples to try at bedtime, so I could get a good night's sleep. He described them as similar to Imitrex, with a longer half-life. They worked well. Having no insurance, I called my regular doc, and asked for any samples of Amerge that he could give me. I got 10. At times, I broke them in half, too.I've been out now for too long, and a good night's sleep has been merely a fantasy, as has a complete day without an attack or two. Starting Monday, I have insurance coverage, Tuesday I see the doc, Wednesday I hope to be pain-free. Good luck!
