I don't fit the mold either. I am a female and went from 40+ years of migraine to CH.I do drink and used to smoke, but stopped both to see if it worked. It did not.
I am currently in a research programme in this country and the research doctors wrote to us all saying they were getting so much info on people not fitting the mold, they may have to do some rethinking.
By the way, always thought USA doctors were tops - if you read our papers. But in this country (Netherlands)I had only one misdiagnosis, by the doctor who filled in during my GP's vacation. When I complained about getting attacks again and the medicine she prescribed not working, he (my own GP) said: I think you have a very special kind of headache, but I have arranged for you to see a neurologist, to be on the safe side, so I won't say anymore, just go see him. He was absolutely right. And I told him so.
