I think the only folks who object to such open discussion are disolusioned doctors who have never exxperienced a full blown cluster headache. Perhaps also a few who are in early stages of cluster developement and have some time left them before things get hopeless. Now there's a taboo subject! Yes folks, thinks can get worse. I didn't start out with 10 pain level of attacks. Then the 10's were bearable as it was only once a day for a short period (short period of hell but still I new it would stop soon). Later years proved amazingly that it was possible to have that level of pain 8, 10, or 12 times a day. And now and then it would last for several hours. And a couple of times it would last all day (of peak pain!). I hope and pray most do not get to those stages. But we should never doubt anyones need to talk about hopelessness on this message board. So far it sounds like we all agree. And since I am what most would call a fanatical Christian, don't forget to pray - God does listen. As to the saying, God helps those... Many scriptures refer to the fact that God helps those who humble themselves. Big difference of where our focus should be. OK, I'm done with my sporadic speal. Hoping for sunny days for all, Rich
