Hi Rebecca - I read your message and my heart went out to you , as I have just finished an 8 week bout and for the first time in 30 years I thought to myself - "I'm not coping with this pain like I used to" and to be quite frank I don't know how I'm going to cope with the next lot. I do believe that my pain has got more intense with the years and like you I wonder if it gets harder to cope with because we are getting older and on top of that - where are we going to end up!!!! I don't know what you do for your pain - I can only suggest some things.
I take Disprin by the bucket full. I drink gallons of water because I worry what the pain killers are doing to my insides. I stop drinking tea and coffe ( because my Naturopath told me to ). I drink Soya milk with Asidophillus powder in it as it helps with the damage the drugs do. I use an ice pack on the base of my skull - to thin the blood. Have you tried the trick that someone on this board had luck with!! Drink 2 cans of Pepsi - straight down - no stopping, (as soon as you feel the slightest twinge.) I haven't but I will if I get hit again. I am currently trying some Homeopathic Drops for Post Trauma (because I have had a neck injury.) I use them every day - who knows - they might just work. I am due for my next bout in around 6 months. Best wishes Christine.
