Obviously the fact that we get CH's indicates that there has been a change in biochemical balances. Our whole body is this incredibly complex balance of chemical and electrical balances. I can see absolutely no reason why some of us CH's may not be affected by imbalances which may cause other problems including mental ones. Your example of lithium, which is often used very successfully to treat clinical depression for example, is a good one.

I've also wondered whether specific genetic conditions make some people more prone to CH's than others. For example in my case I come from a family history of Tourette syndrome (and am also diagnosed as such), but none of the rest of the family get anything like CH's.

Perhaps the search should be for a "restorer of biochemical balance" rather than the "pain blockers or symptom treaters" that we so desperately cling to.

I'm hoping to start investigating some traditional African herbal remedies the next time i'm in cycle. The herbalist lady that I've been consulting is very much into "holistic" type healing with the help of indigenous herbs.

Who knows! I wont until I've tried.

PFNAD to all
