Roger,
I didn't know the FDA approved every treatment associated with a medical condition. Normally a medical insurance policy states something similar to: Doctor prescribed and medically necessary. If the procedure is not experimental and excluded the coverage should be there.

It is curious to me that this was their reaction. Most claims are submitted using a code and if the code is correct, this should not have come up. If you have an HMO, then I could be all wet on this. Haven't had any experience with that form of coverage.

Maybe your Doctor and Ins Agent could help you with this.

Best of luck to you, maybe some day all of this ignorance will fade away.
