Greetings:

It has been a while since I have been on the board. I have suffered with bouts of CH's for over 10 years. I have been taking 20MG of Propanolol since last August and the Beast has been kept at bay. I have not had any of the
horrible nights I experienced in the past. I know it is a blood pressure med and usually used for migraines, but it has worked for me.

I just received this info from my wife who has been with me the whole way down this painful road. It may provide relief for some:

NEW ORAL DRUG HELPS CLUSTER HEADACHES: A new drug taken in tablet form

seems as rapid as the current injected drug in giving relief to sufferers

of cluster headaches. Dr. Peter Goadsby of the Institute of Neurology in
London and colleagues say the drug zolmitriptan -- sold under the name
Zomig by Astra-Zeneca Pharmaceuticals -- caused no serious side effects
in
the 147-patient study. Instead, it relieved pain for as many as 47
percent
of patients. A placebo worked 29 percent of the time. Goadsby's team
administered either 5 or 10 milligrams of zolmitriptan at the onset of
pain. Even the lower dose blunted the cluster headache, often described
as
a crippling pain behind one eye that is more severe than its
longer-lasting
cousin, the migraine. Goadsby's findings are published in the journal
Neurology.

I dont know if anyone posted this before or this information is out. Thought I would apss it along for all who can use it.

Pain free days to all!

Bob J
