Once I told my dentist about my CH. I was about to get an attack while he was working on a crown.I told him my pain was in the upper gumline as well as other places (such as the back of my head where it rested against the chair.) He asked whether I wanted to try more lidocaine injections in that side of my mouth. Since it was already numb I agreed. He injected more lidocaine in several areas along the gumline. My gum was numb, oops,
but the headache happened anyway.
Cheers for the dentist, though. He was the one who referred me to the neurologist who recognized CH and gave me lithium, Verapamil, and Imitrex.
