Norvasc is another High BP med (and same CCB family of Verapamil, but not same sub-family) I think that will be the same with side effects (low BP), at least the heartbeat reduces less than Verapamil.
Ask your doctor if he changed it for low BP or low heartbeat. In my opinion this change is so strange. Ask also if he can put you again on Verapamil and give you some meds to compensate the low BP (it seems me a more reasonable way to act). And, also, I think that Norvasc does not function at well as Verapamil, and you will got the same side effects.
Agree completely with Bob about the other Abortive methods
