Unquestionably, the chmb has gotten rather feisty of late.

This happens periodically. Blame it on the season, sun spots, full moons (No, drummer, pull your pants up), whatever.

Some of us are incredibly anal-retentive and prefer 'serious' discussions about meds, treatments, theories, etc.

Some of us are idiots and prefer to mix things up.

Some of me take umbrance when someone posts that they haven't been here in a year (because they've been in remission) and then proceed to tell everyone how the board has been degraded since their departure.

[Please note the intentional misuse of plural and singular pronouns in the above few statements.]

I have no qualifactions to advise anyone, but the beauty and curse of the 'Net is that qualifications aren't required.

My heart goes out to those who have posted about losing loving and beloved grandparents.

I never knew any of my grandparents.

My heart goes out to those whose parents are facing serious medical problems.

My parents are well.

My heart goes out to those who have never had a supporter.

Me neither.

My heart goes out to those whose family makes light of their clusters.

Mine doesn't understand, but they don't dismiss my pain.

My heart goes out to all the chronics.

The demon has "blessed" me with only episodic visits, thus far.

My heart goes out to those who struggle financially.

Been rich, been poor. Poor now. Rich is better, but it has its' problems too.

Those who have been here the past year and a half know my story......

I found this place shortly after my last cycle began, but couldn't join in due to the demon. When the cycle eased up, I became a 'member of the family'.

Been here everyday ever since.

Have never had a cluster while I have been here. Don't have much respect for the 'drive-bys' who come only when in cycle and generally criticize the failure to find a new 'magic bullet', as if this is OUR fault.

I haven't posted much lately, but this is due only to working on Elaine's site, trying to get divorced and rid of the other Demon in my life and moving. When I do post, they are a mix of serious support and assistance (on the rare occasion when I actually know something of value) and cutting up with my friends.

Do I think some threads get carried away and take up too much board space? Yup. So what? It ain't my call...it's DJ's. He can wipe out any thread or post he wishes, but since he hasn't, I have to assume he continues to support the 'no censorship, say something stupid and you're on you own' approach.

As benevolent as DJ is, remember he's still a benevolent dictator here at ch.com. This isn't a democracy and was never intended to be. DJ reads every post and email and makes his choices based on his feelings and the input he receives. If he wanted ch.com and the MB to be a dry, sterile place that only dealt with technical issues, he would make it so.

To everyone on every side of this issue....get over yourself.

ch.com is what it is and what DJ allows it to become. So far, he's shown that he's willing to let it grow, evolve, develop and mutate into whatever it wishes to be.

That's the definition of Freedom of Speech.

To paraphrase Alabama,

"I'm proud I live in ch.com, where at least I know I'm free"

KTSSU,
T
