Hi Todd-

Have you tried the 'obvious'? Air pressure changes as you land (and as you ascend, but descents seem to be more troubling), causing pressure difficulties on the inner ear and sinus. This is why babies and small children often cry during flights.

Chewing gum is the most common remedy.

Assuming you've tried this, I would strongly recommend you see a doc and get checked out. I have over a million miles on several airlines and have never heard of anyone with such an extreme reaction. I pray I'm wrong, but thoughts of aneurism, blood pressure problems and the like pop to mind.
