Mine always occur in 18 month cyles during stressfull times. Then again, mine switch sides and make me suicidal. I tell my wife to hide or throw out any ammo I have for any of my guns because if I had the energy to crawl into my office and load one I'd be a gonner. Stress for me is a key factor. Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
