Been in this "cycle" for almost 6 weeks- broke through the Lithium and now trying Verapimil...enjoying an average of 4-8 attacks per night between 2:30 - 7:30 AM. Haven't slept more than 30 mins at a time for weeks. Wednesday night / Thursday morning, things changed suddenly when I got the grandpappy of all clusters, a "level 9" lasting for almost four hours. Oxygen (my magic bullet) didn't make a dent...took everything I could get my hands on...Imitrex, Vicodin, cold water, hot water, Lidocaine, etc. etc. etc. The "hangover" kept me out of the office, and wearing sunglasses all the next day and night. Thursday night, however, I got the first night's sleep I've had in over a month! Tonight,(late Fri. night), I can feel the "shadows", and am expecting more tonight...we shall see. Don't mean to "whine"... just wondering if this is the devil's last stab before a retreat, or a new strategy in his battle plan. Has anyone else experienced a dramatic change, or an "indestructable" headache?? Reading your stories and experiences has been both enlightening and comforting.
Peace, Lou
