This issue has troubled me a lot, tonight.
I wish I knew a solution. I know the board these last weeks has nothing to recommend it to young people.
But I do not mean because of bad language.
I mean, because of the very bad feelings that went with the bad words. Some were even expressed without any bad words. But the hate was flying.
There are some bad-language users on this site who are healthy and sane (as sane as CH-nutters can be). If they drop 4-letter words, that won't harm a soul.I am utterly convinced a 12 year old can stand those knocks, if there is loving support coming with those same words.
It is the hate mongers I fear to expose this poor girl to.
There's one thing we CAN do and, Cherylallman, I think we must do. Suggest to this mother that she tells her daughter NEVER to give out her e-mail adress, let alone her home address.
Twelve is bitterly young to be having CH, but at 12 young people are quite sensible understand a great deal. Telling her that there are hawks out there may protect her. I hope.
