I can't remember the exact dose, I don't need them any more, but I think
that they were 200 mg tablets, I took one three times a day for the
first week, to see how my body reacted to the drug. After the first week
I increased the dose to two, three times a day. I had a blood liver
function test after the second week, just to check that every thing was
okay. With the okay from the doctor, I kept the dose at two 200 mg
tablets three times a day for one month and then slowly tapered the dose,
taking one tablet off the dose every week, meaning that I would take 5
tablets instead of 6 a day for a week, and reduce by one a week until, I
could feel the shadow headaches come back (if they come back at all).. I
gave up drinking alcohol until I was sure that the drug had no side
effects. i.e. the liver function test was free. My doctor advised that I
have a liver function test every three months while on the medication. I
found relief from headaches after about three days, getting shadow
headaches very occasionally for about a week. Then I was free from
pain, until I started to taper. I tapered very gently and found that my
perfect dose was 1 200 mg tablet two times a day. I eventually found
that as I got used to the dose, I could taper it further and for the last
week I was taking one 200 mg tablet a day, after that I only took them
if I felt a shadow coming and then had the good fortune of having no
shadows at all, so no need for the medication.

Please bear with me, I'm at the office and don't have the medication with
me, I will check the exact size of the tablet when I get home, I'm sure it
was 200 mg, but I will let you know ASAP.
