Jimmy

Hang in there. The surgery is far away from being safe.

I just posted a message thanking everybody on the site for their support. I have only had clusters for six years but mine too have become more frequent and more severe. My last cycle lasted four months.

It's been two weeks since I have had a clusterheadache. I feel great but I know they will return.

Things were tough during the last four months. My mental health was challenged and I was worried. Here is how I got through it.

My doctore supports me 100%. He diagnosed my cluster headaches and treats them. I have tried many drugs but it basically came down to treating the pain with Vicodin. There were days when I didn't know exactly how many pills I took. I never lost control because I was so afraid of the pain, I would not become addicted. If I lost my seemingly free access to narcotics, the pain would kill me.

This is what I'm saying: Find a great doctor. See if there are any therapies you didn't try. I found that a chiropracter helped. Do what you have to do to get through.

Alot of people around me did not support me in a time of the most extreme pain I have ever felt in my life. A little over a year ago I had an accident and I broke my hip. This hurts, this is pain. It was nothing compared to clusterheadaches.

Hang in there and find support. I know what you are going through, enough to type text into a computer in the middle of the night. I hope you get well soon and I will say a prayer for you tonight. We pray alot when we have a headache but not too much when we don't. Tonight I don't have a headache and I will pray for yours.

Dave
