There is a growing number of medical reports indicating that rebound headaches are possible with imitrex (and possible other drugs in this family). The problem is that it's not possible to saying how much of any particular medication can trigger rebound attacks.
I hope that you have explored the variety of medications use to prevent/reduce the frequency of attacks. This approach is often the most benign (in terms of side effects) and helpful first line response to frequent headaches of any type.
