I've read several of those "conclusive" papers on CH - what a bunch of arrogant crap (I'm not a Dr, by any means, but I DO have quite a bit of exposure to biological research reports & protocols,including some editing thereof, at least enough to see when someone's WAY out on a limb)
the hazel eyes is like the jutting-jaw male thing
maybe blame it on the "publish or perish" requirements at most research organoizations & universities - (where tenure, promotion, grant $$$ etc, is based not on the quality of one's work, but on how often you get papers published in professional journals)
unfortunately, it's usually "them" who do the publishing and "us" who do the perishing
