Why don't you look up a posting by DocGreg and
e-mail him directly? Also, maybe you should get a second
opinion--always a good idea before surgery.
Finally, you might want to read through all the
postings and write down all the drugs--just to
make sure you've tried everything. For instance,
Jonathan mentioned a drug called Eplim (sodium
valproate). I've not heard it mentioned before.
Have you tried that? I would literally try
every drug mentioned on this board, along with
a new expert in the field, before going to surgery.
When I get home, I'll check in my book, "Headache
Help," by Dr. Laurence Robbins, to see if he has
info on the surgery. I do remember reading about
it. I think there is one place in Texas that
specializes in the surgery (probably the place
your doctor mentioned). You also might want to
e-mail "Yuko," who's posted within the last month
or two. She may be the one who knows something
about the surgery.
