Annemarie, my neuro sees no reason to discontinue verapamil during remission and when the next cluster starts there is no delay until it kicks in again. During my my last remission [that was once upon a time in the last millennium :-( ], I was down to 320 mg/day and when this cycle started, I wasn't hit too hard as I was still on verap.
BTW, verap helped me to get down my resting pulse rate from a soaring 95 / min to a more comfortable 70 / min.
