When I signed up for my early Social Secutiry Benefits, they questioned why I had not worked since August of 1999. So, I told the lady about my Cluster Headaches and how much trouble I was having keeping my job, how my Dr. worked with me and recommended Family Medical Leave on daily increments, which I was working on when our house sold. We then decided to return to Arkansas where my husband returned to Real Estate Sales, so I didn't go back to work. She told me I should also sign up for disability!!!
I said all that to say this....I am printing all relevent material from this website you recommended.
It is some of the best written and best explainatory I've seen.
I will be seeing my neuro in July, and if he goes along with my plan I'll file for disability and use this information as part of my paperwork.
For general information..if you are the age to take early SS retirement, you can go ahead and do that and still file for Disability. In my case, if I'm successful, I will draw an additional $150 per month more than I will on regular SS.
Thanks again!!! Margaret G
