Elaine is so right! Demerol only dims your mind, not your pain. It certainly is not the drug of choice for CH. It really makes me MAD when I hear someone was given something like this for CH.
Donald needs a doctor who knows about CH.
Maybe a few OUCH brochures distributed in emergency areas would be read by the uniniated. Really, we are desperate when we go there. Once I told them what I needed and got a shot of Imitrex without any hassle. I can hardly believe they just gave it on my request. But I told them I had CH and could not get a prescription for Imitrex yet because my appointment date was several days ahead. That was true.
Surely emergency rooms would allow a patient to start the oxygen treatment at least if we asked for it. Has anyone ever tried this? As far as I am concerned every minute of a CH attack is a minute too long. CH is a great emergency.
Next time tell them Donald has Goadsby's cephalalgia hyper-hypothalamusenis - something that isn't just HA. They won't know the difference, I'll bet!
