Your message is so beautifully and perfectly stated!
I'm one of the few who are, indeed, going to the OUCH convention in August. It's an inconvenience for me to go, Iwould rather stay where I am, it tends to be a bit expensive, and I really don't know what will be accomplished. We must, however, start somewhere, and do something in an attempt to get some attention and support for research for this hideous condition which has severely altered by life, and continues to, right to this minute. Therefore, I really can't NOT go. At least it might be a beginning to something.
I'm not touting the convention, and I understand why some of us just can't get there; I'm simply saying that for me, it represents a beginning of some sort, an attempt to actually DO something, however feeble it might be.
