Billy, I used to take the imitrex pill but found it rather slow, as you are, I wake with ch and before I knew it, I had a full blown smacker.
Now I have the injection, so when I wake with one, I slip downstairs to the kitchen, sit on the stool, count to three and stick in the needle, 5 minutes later its gone, so I go back upstairs and crawl in bed and wait for the effects to work properly. I then can get on with my daily life till the next one.
