I was also told (3 years ago) I wasn't a candidate for the surgery becuase I was episodic, but have since gone chronic, so I guess that makes a difference - same DR. The procedure they're talking about is Stereotactic Radiofrequency Trigeminal Rhizotomy.(SRTR, I guess for short). I had read about the gamma knife and asked. It was a resounding NO WAY! No explanation just NO. But none of the meds have worked and I just can't live from one HA to the next and that's what I've done for almost two years (2-5 per day). I'm just worn out.
Thanks for the help from everyone. Don't think I'd have made it this far without this page. It's my lifeline to sanity.
