He is 25--got the headache when he was 13. We kept hoping it was hormonal and he would outgrow it. He was first diagnosed as an atypical migraine and given biofeedback and all the migraine meds. Nothing ever worked even a little.

About 5 years ago he was diagnosed as a cluster. I didn't know anyone else with them so just assumed an all-the-time headache was not unusual. He has found NOTHING that helps! He was once given steroids to break it--that worked for about 3 days. Of course, steroids are dangerous and he couldn't keep taking that. Stadol nasal spray helped. But that's a narcotic, I think. GHB helped a lot, but put him in the hospital! It was horrible!!!!!

I can't remember all the meds he has taken for cluster, but none have helped at all. He has not taken lithium or oxygen. We just found this site last weekend.

At this point he just lies in bed most of the time in pain. It is so awful. He is NOT depressed usually, but I'm sure he is now. He insists he isn't suicidal. He has so much to live for--is very smart, has wonderful friends. Had a great job that he loved, until the headache got too bad to work.

Has anyone ever considered that it could be computer and TV radiation? He is on the computer whenever he can stand it. Was working as a computer tech--so if radiation is a factor, it would certainly be for him.

Thank you for any input. I would love to hear it isn't a cluster. Especially if someone can tell me what it IS!! Did get a nice suggestion this morning and will follow up.
