DJ,

Is this your page? Thank You!! I sincerely wish everyone a pain free day. I have been having a time of it. I was having at least 2 headaches per day that lasted anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. It would then take another 4 hours or so before the headache fully resolved itself. My Doctor prescribed Sansert. Did you all know that this drug is chemically related to LSD? Anyway, I was still having severe headaches although not as many. I had some left over Bellergal-S and thought why not? The amount of Ergotamine Tartrate in this drug is very low. It also contains a small amount of Phenobarbital. It has helped a lot. My Doctor said not to mix the 2 because it could cause problems. The prescribing information suggests that ergot preperations should not be mixed. However, I have used Sansert and Imitrex together without any ill effects. The package insert with the Imitrex advises against using with ergot drugs. What to do? I see where Irene is having great luck with Ritalin. Dr. Sacks says that the Amphetamines have every right to be included in the "army" of drugs used for this terrible condition. Dr. Robbins says that on occasion even Cocaine is justified AND prescribed as a nasal spray. Personally, I would be happy with something "i.e. the triptans" that was not so expensive!! Two (2!!) Imitrex injections are around $75.00 (You all know that!!) and on a very bad day I can easily use up both of them. Maxalt? Well, it's better than nothing. I see where Zomig is getting good reviews by comrads in pain. How long does it take to work and how much does it cost? Amerge is very long lasting but I personally have found that it takes about 2 hours to work. Ah, if only my head had an on and off switch. Anyone for exercise? I joined a local health clubs about 6 different times AND every time I had to stop because lifting weights (which is what I wanted to do) caused me to start having headaches. Speaking of asshole Doctors.....I once went to a Neuro. When I had a cluster in his office he ran out of the room and came back in with his Nurse so she could see this "amazing event". Tickets to the Circus anyone? This jerk tried 02 using one of those nasal things rather than a mask. Of course it did not work (if it was even going to) because I had nasal congestion. Not to forget. Do any of you believe that it's possible to have tension, migraine and cluster headaches? I had an attack last week where for the very first time EVER I saw lights and other "things" out of the corner of my eyes. This may have happened once before but I can't be sure. Even with this "light show headache" I still had 1 tearing eye and 1 nostril that ran like a faucet. Personally I would prefer the on and off switch. Barbara probably would to as it sounds like her Doctor is pushing for surgery. Thanks to everyone. This place is a God send.
PS//No chocolate for me!!

Any advise?
