Clusters in a 4 y/o are definitely NOT common, but sadly they have been reported. Nonetheless, I would explore EVERY option before accepting a diagnosis, due to the extreme rarity. Find a good neurologist who understands kids as well as CH.

I'm afraid I don't know what treatments might be used in a child so young. Prednisone, verapamil and lithium are the most common preventatives. Imitrex and inhaling pure oxygen (O2) are the most common abortives. Certainly, you would need a sharp doc to make sure the dosages are correct.

Consider also CPH...symptoms are very similar to CH, but more frequent and shorter in duration. It's beleived to be 100% treatable by Indomethicin.
