In the normal pain process there is tissue damage and the pain meds have something to work on. There are many points in the normal pain process for pain meds to attack. However, in the CH-pain process, the pain does not follow a normal pain-route and therefore normal pain meds address the wrong biologic function, often causing side-effects that make CH worse.
This is only my opinion based upon my experience.
