Well, as I've mentioned before, the drug company
that makes Amerge leaves it up to the doctor as
to how long a person is on it. Dr. David Kudrow,
who specializes in cluster, told me he's had one
or two patients on 2.5 mg Amerge daily for a few
months, with good results. I think if I were in
your shoes, I would first get off the Inderol and
see if I still had the same level of relief with
the other two drugs. Then I might try ramping down
on one of the other drugs. In other words, I
try to minimize drug combos and dosages. But...
if you determine that it's the combo that's giving
you the relief, then GO FOR IT!
I think lithium is a drug with a lot of possible
side effects. I would sure see about Ritalin before
I went on lithium. I mean, if they're giving
Ritalin to kids, it's got to be safer than lithium.
