Your Dr. was right about thing. No one makes the lidocaine commercially. You have to find a pharmacy that will mix it up for you. Of course my Dr. went the extra mile and located the stuff for me. Actually he isn't even a Dr., he's a physicians assistant. I still need to send him a thankyou for his efforts. The stuff sure kills the eyeball, nostril pain while I'm doing squats.
