My heart just aches for what you and your husband had to endure this weekend. I will say a prayer for you both tonight. One thing that struck me while reading your post, is that your husband is very fortunate to have the loving support of yourself and family. I am not quite that fortunate and know that support can be the only element to get you through these rough ones.
Has the emergency room or neurologist ever tried high dose oxygen therapy in lieu of drowning your poor husband with all these useless pain meds that seem to only add to the torture by making him nauseous? If not, it might be worth a try.
I understand and empathize with your husband's "violent" behavior during this weekend. I personally feel that this behavior (having been there myself) is a result of the combination of unrelenting, tortuous pain and having to bare the ineptitude of emergency rooms and medical personnel. This is why I won't go (willingly) to an ER anymore.

PS. I was curious about employment with regard to your husband. Is he able to hold down a job with the clusters?
