Hello fellow sufferers
I am a lucky one, I get CH’s only once a year now, they are more violent than the old days, but I know (Pray) they only last a few weeks. Mine start in February and end in April, it used to be 3 weeks free 3 months agony. I did all that stuff your doctor has made you try. I know all the meds. I also know how much they cost, my personal favorite is Staydol Nasal spray. Only $150.00 for 10ml a bargain at twice the cost. Gotta add some Dristan to the bottle to make it last a bit longer, then one snort and strait to the freezer to breath in the cold air until the monster fades for 3 hours and start all over again.
So this year I found myself in a new job not yet able to get insurance. I held out a long time before I finally went to the doc’s. I found a fast acting alternative, good old Nyquil by the gulp. It acts faster than aspirin and waiting for the fiorinal/cod to get into the system. I held out a long time, went through 3 bottles before I gave in. The side effects are diarrhea, but it was good for 4 hours of sleep so big deal, there are times I’d sell my soul for 6 hours sleep.
I also was given some drug that is prescribed for heroin addicts (from a friend of a friend) I only got two but they were good for 1 whole night’s sleep each. It’s a bummer that any prescription that work doesn’t work the same all the time. They get weak after a few times (cycles) to the point they don’t work at all.
Good luck sufferers, I know all to well what it’s about.
