... First, I am very clear about the difference between the organic brain and the mind. They are not the same.
The mind-body theory was developed by Dr. John Sarno, NY Hospital, as an extension of Dr. Sigmund Freud's theories of the ID, Ego and Super-Ego. These roughly correspond to the conscious and subsconscious minds, and to the child-brain and adult-brain.
I have adapted Dr. Sarno's mind-body theory which he developed for chronic, intractable back pains, to CH. I suggest you locate this book, "The Mind-Body Prescription" as a basic starting point. He suggests that many otherwise unexplained physical problems, including some cancers, may be rooted in mental, not physical, processes.
Many do no like this kind of theory, for any number of personal reasons. For myself, it seems like the only kind of comprehensive theory that fits the entirity of the CH-condition.
If you can not find the book, you can visit the "CH Study Group Website" and review the adaptation of Dr. Sarno's theories to CH. Follow the link below.
