Maybe it is different for chronics and episodics. I'm a former and stress definately triggers it, but not always! It's more psychological stress, than anything else. Worrying and being on edge. Then, when it passes, the pain cometh. But like I said, not always, it probably needs a combination of factors to be "right". Tension headaches can sometimes give way to CH. Regular exercise helps keep muscles fit and stress at bay, relieves tension. It works for me at least.
