Well after a horrifying weekend (re: Ain't gonna believe this weekend) the neuro put husband on Amitriptylene (Elavil ?) and Calan.

His BP is still a little high so maybe this will bring it back into the normal range and help with the headaches.

Anyone ever tried these medicines?

My husband has tried so many medicines (probably 15 different prescriptions, along with pain medicines). We also have an oxygen and he uses Imitrex in between. Hopefully these medicines will eleviate ALL the clusters and he won't even have to take the Imitrex (wishful thinking).

The neuro gave me an article from a medical journal that "describes" most cluster victims. Most of these descriptions fit my husband to a T. Just curious as to how many others victims fall into the category.

Tall (yes 6"4)
Rugged looking (yes)
Deep vertical creases in forehead (yes)
Orange peel skin (yes)
Prominent chin (not sure)
Does not do well sociallly (yes - at least around people he doesn't know - always that he was somewhat shy though)
Can become hostile toward others (he can if he's in pain)

Thought it was strange on the physical descriptions. Can't remember all the other descriptions because they were more general.

Good Luck everyone.
