To answer your last question first, there are dozens if not hundreds of "triggers" that will set a cluster in motion. And yes you'll have to find it yourself since everybody is different. Alcohol, MSG, sugar, lack of rest, heat, smells, the list goes on and on. But first you must find out if indeed it is cluster headaches that you suffer from. Punch the Cluster Trait and Cluster Quiz buttons on the left side of the screen. You'll find some very helpful information under those buttons.
Most doctors have no idea what clusters are. Ask your doctor to refer you to a neurologist. If you can get a referal to a neurologist call and ask if she/he has ever treated a cluster patient. If no is the answer, get a referal to another. Good luck.
