Migranes are possible. As usual she needs a doctor that knows about those and clusters. My wife had migranes and some would last for 3 days at a time. She had high blood preasure and the migranes went away when the BP was controled.
As for triggers, booze, beer, wine are all probably #1 on the list. Anything with MSG is up there also. You didn't eat at a Chinese place did you?
With the long episode of the pain I would suspect migranes over clusters. A true cluster headache would probably bring about suicide after that length of time.
She needs the right doctor, as usual.
