You can take LSD on a full stomach and still feel its effect in thirty minutes or less.
In fact, we were always given food an hour before the treatment because some folks tend to get very hungry after the effect has begun to peak, and eating food often brings the experience to an abrupt slowdown.
The so-called "experience" may not be what you want so much as the prevention or the ending of an attack. It doesn't take much LSD to do the trick.
With Psilocybin, however, an empty stomach might be best.
In both cases, one of the doctor's recommendations was to take 2500-3000 units of time-release vitamin C an hour before ingestion of either substance. In part, they suggested it because it aids in assimilation and also helps counteract some of the potential impurities or toxins that might found in some of these substance.
Furthermore, the old hippies I knew who took LSD would place it in the corner of their eye and let it dissolve there for a very quick effect. I never did that because I didn't know what it would do to my eye. I still am not sure about that method. I usually let it dissolve under my tongue.
