Hello everyone! I am a cluster suffer for about 15 years
now. I have tried just about everything sugested on this
page. So far for me the imitrex nasal spray and 02 has
been my saving grace. I am 2 weeks into my attacks and
have been using the imitrex for 1 1/2 of them. Through
the years I have been to several MDs and specialists,
finally, it took nurse practicioner to unerstand the pain.
I had been givin imatrex a year ago during my last bout
but of course you are allowed only 8 doses a month, however
she has aranged for me to get an unlimited supply as
long as I am in at least 1 per week for a check up.
The Imitrex has reduced my attacks to 2-3 a day from
6-9 and shortened the attacks to about 5-7 minutes
from 1-2 hours with
the combination of 02 and a hot shower. When I feel a
attack coming on I will take my imitrex spray use the 02
for acouple of minutes while the shower warms up, jump
in the hot shower with the water hitting me eye and temple
and within a couple minutes my attack is over. For me so
far this combo has not yet failed me. As well it will
allow me to sleep for at least 6-9 hours before another
attack. Fianally I have found somthing that makes this
hell a little bit more managable for this cluster period.
My cluster attack for about 8 weeks on the average, lets
see if this combo will shorten that as well. For those
of you unable to get the imitrex or it doesnt work for
you just mail me and I can tell you about some of the
other things I have done to help deal with this GOD
forsaken pain. I hope I be of some help to anyone out
there or maybe someone can offer me some sugestions.
