I was reading a bit about macrophages and IL-2
production. It occur to me that it would
interesting to see if there is a connection
between CH and them.
Apparently IL-2 and macrophages, as you noted,
play a role in the body's defense mechanism,
i.e.: taking up dead cells and dealing with
viral infections. Concomitantly, these affect
body temperature. Also, they can induce headaches
and localized pain. I was wondering if anyone
has looked at the possible involvement of
macrophages and IL-2 in CH. There seem to be some
symptomatic parallelisms between the two and CH.
If anyone could, it would be interesting to find
out what the levels of IL-2 are during a CH
attack/cycle. Also, what macrophage activity is
there during a CH attack/cyle.
