Dramamine (or Gravol in Canada) cause sleep as a side effect but don't let you get into the REM phase which is where the Beast can find you.
Granted, you don't wake up fully rested because you are not achieving REM sleep, but in the midst of a brutal cycle, ANY sleep at all is a welcome friend.
My husband is 155 pounds, 5'7" and takes 2 or 3 before bed when in cycle and can usually get through the night without getting hit.
Definitely worth a shot!
