Dear Michel,

As a fellow cluster sufferer, I find your post very interesting. It is good to know that there are people our there that can get some relief from the sorts of manipulations you described.

My take on inflammation and CH is a little different, however. Although noone is quite certain as to what triggers CH, we all do know that they are vascular in origin. However, the pain that is elicited is neuropathic in origin. Although I think that it is quite possible for an inflammatory response in the brain to trigger a CH, I think that the pain induced is neuropathic, which is why most people do not receive any relief from NSAIDS.

I still do believe, however, that some peoples' triggers could possibly be inflammatory in origin.

Your case is interesting from that standpoint. I highly recommend that you maybe give a try letting some researchers know about your information (i.e. National Headache Institute here in the States, etc.)

Good luck,

Troy Jones, DVM
