Sorry to hear that Zomig didn't work out for you. Like ALL of the triptans taken in oral form (Maxalt, Amerge, Zomig, Imitrex) they are best taken at the very first hint of a headache, otherwise they can take up to an hour to kick in.

If I wake up with a well-established CH, even the Zomig takes quite some time to act.... not as long as Imitrex, but sometimes almost an hour. When I am awake I get about ten to fifteen minutes warning that another CH is on the way, and if I pop a Zomig RIGHT THEN, the pain never gets much worse than about a 4 or 5 on the Kip scale, and is completely gone within about twenty minutes.

Of course, it may be that Imitrex works for you and Zomig doesn't. For some reason Maxalt does absolutely nothing for me at all, but works like a charm for others here. Go figure.
