My daughter is 2 years old and was diagnosed with eplipesy 1 year ago.
After taking the DPT shots and 2 days later my daughter developed a high fever, the cocksackie virus and a 40 minute seizure.
Of course the pedatrician claims no relation.
Anyway, she is currently on topomax (150mg/day) and phenobarbatol.
Her neurologist wants to start her on depakote becuase she has seizure's once a month every month lasting for 60 min or longer.
The types of seizures she has are a mixed variation from: abscence seizures, generalized, and possibly part of the maoclonic family.
Is Depakote too harsh of a drug for a female who turned 2 on 7/16/00?
