After reading the info from my Anethisiologist and reading other not so mainstream books about opiates. It seems that many Drs. are being taught that opiate use if if someone is addicted once they find the doasge that works,(there is a max amount that if You use more it doen't help) It is taught that people on opiates will not live shorter lifes, can work and function normaly etc. The main cause of pfoblems even with Heroin (No I am not an avocate of herion) are caused by dirty needles and and additives use to cut the drugs or no money left over to eat properly. When raw opium was legal their was a high class of people that used opium who worked and led oterwise sucessful and normal lives. Opium was cheap and caused no financial ruin. They have also discovered and opiate receptor in the brain that is used in conjunction with pain. It's hard to write down all of the reading I have done. However more Drs. are getting info on opiate therapy. Again it must be titrated slowly and may take several months to reach theraputic levels. Thanks Mike L
